This ongoing project brings together the University of Exeter's drama research department and the area authorities in Torbay and Exeter, South Devon.
Exploring the unlikely performance spaces of our urban centres, creative educators look at the performances already being enacted within the city space... and explore possible new avenues to engage young people in dialogue with their communities.
Upcoming pilot projects include:
-use of abandoned/derelict commercial property in city centres as a site for performance
-examination of the 'social stage' of bar and pub culture as a performance site for young people
-development of a series of traveling workshops which use unlikely urban spaces as venues for performance
